1,000,000 Mega Dance Party!
To celebrate hitting a million subscribers on youtube I made some remixes of my music and videos, or rather my cat did. The event was live streamed, you can see the recording here.
Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed my weird videos over the years.
Denki Groove – UFOholic
Here’s a new music video I made for the Japanese band Denki Groove
A super-intelligent robot horse is floating through space, dreaming about the life it lived many years ago. It tries to re-live this past happiness, but as is often the way with nostalgia, what it ends up creating is something altogether new and overpowering.
That is the strange story behind this video. The ideas of technology and happy memories were inspired by how the music sounded to me. It also reminded me of a horse for some reason, perhaps in the way that horses have traditionally been a living part of human technology, and imagining a future where this role was taken to its extreme conclusion.
Horses make me laugh as well, so it might just be that.
Fiat 500, 60 years of history
I was recently asked to make a video to celebrate 60 years of the Fiat 500, and here is the result:
It is a montage that takes us through 60 years of culture, accompanied by the various corresponding models of the car.
One thing I learned from making this video is that dogs wearing bow-ties is a thing. Unless the ad agency was pulling my leg.. I don’t get out much.
After Effects Live Streams
Some months back I experimented with doing weekly live-streams where I looked at some of my old After Effects projects. It was interesting, but After Effects is my job, so looking at it in my spare time got a bit draining after a while. I might do it again one day though.
Here’s a playlist of some of the streams, along with shorter videos of the “highlights”.
One of the things I discovered from doing this is that I mostly have no idea how I made any of my videos. You can find all my streams on my twitch channel, including a music making one. I also stream games sometimes, which is much more fun than making animations.
Merry Christmas!
Yeah, I know. I’m terrible at updating this blog.
Anyway, three months ago it was Christmas, and I celebrated the festivities with a video.
As usual for my Christmas videos, it follows a rather dark theme. But such is the nature of the xmas ecosystem, where continual growth is counterbalanced by continual death.
Life is the beautiful and horrible explosion that never stops.
