    Cyriak Animator Pro

I had this weird idea of making an animation without actually animating anything. “That’ll save me some time” I thought. But of course it didn’t. Any time saved on a project is immedately swallowed up by the desire to make it more complicated.

All the movement in this video is created by me turning a wheel on various lego contraptions. The music was made along similar lines, using pots and pans and rubber bands and whatever else I could find. There is some digital compositing to piece it all together, and some stop motion on the “user interface”. An interesting experiment.

    Ultra Mega Dance Party

Man, this was so much more work than I thought it would be. I made it to celebrate 2 million subscribers on youtube. There was a live stream, and I hope people were actually dancing along. You still can, if you feel the urge.

    The Existential Threat

Music video for the band Sparks. Quite an iconic band to be making a music video for. It turned into rather an epic project, taking about 3 months to complete. Great fun though, coming up with all the ideas for paranoid delusions. Or perhaps some of them aren’t so delusional? No? Well, even if they are just paranoid fantasies, I’m sure we can make them happen if we all try hard enough.

    Circle World

Believe it or not, the world in this video really is a complete circle, a fact I only discovered near the end of making it when I tried fitting all the pieces together. There might be some mathematical reason it ended up working like that, since the whole thing was meticulously divided into sections that were all exactly timed to coincide with the bars of the music. I have a feeling it was just a happy accident though.

    Horse Destroys the Universe

A promotional video for my book “Horse Destroys the Universe”. If you haven’t read it yet, you can find the e-version on amazon. Print copies are a little hard to come by these days, since the publisher went out of business.

There’s a blog post I wrote back in 2019 which goes into the whole publication process, if you are curious.
